Air Conditioner & Air Purifier West Eugene Giveaway
Beyond Toxics is seeking eligible households to receive free portable air conditioners and air purifiers as part of our West Eugene Clean Energy Project (WECEP). WECEP is an expansion of Bethel Clean Energy Project, which aims to bring clean, cost-effective home energy upgrades to those most at risk of the impacts of climate change and industrial pollution.
We are distributing air conditioners and air purifiers to 45 households in West Eugene.

When: May 16
Who: West Eugene residents with qualifying health and/or income conditions, including:

People age 65 or older,
-
People on OHP or SNAP benefits,

People with a disability or health condition that increases vulnerability to heat, such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, or respiratory diseases,

Pregnant women

Reconsidering the Waste Stream
League of Women Voters of Marion and Polk Counties will feature Beyond Toxics' GIS Analyst & Program Coordinator Mason Leavitt, along with Senator Deb Patterson, Marion County's Brian May, and Salem City Councilor Linda Nishioka, for a discussion on our garbage stream.
Up to 72% of material in the waste stream could be diverted or recovered. So what's going on? What is happening with our waste and where is it going?
We will discuss the future of ReWorld Marion Incinerator, obstacles to reduction of residential waste, the future of incineration and landfills, food waste reduction, and more! Join the discussion and let's learn together!

Toxic Roots of the Silicon Forest
Toxic Roots of the Silicon Forest: People, Power, and Pollution in the Semiconductor Industry is a day-and-a-half conference taking place June 3-4, 2026, in Portland, Oregon.
From the evening of June 3 through June 4, this gathering, co-hosted by Portland Jobs with Justice and CHIPS Communities United, will convene workers, researchers, environmental advocates, and community leaders from across Oregon and beyond. Together, participants will explore the legacy of the microchip industry, discuss its local impacts in Oregon, and plant the seeds for a more equitable and sustainable future.
